Gang Wang

Hello! My name is Gang Wang, and I come from China. I was recruited in the GraWIToN project for the study of data analysis of gravitational waves, at the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) in Italy. Before I joined in the GraWIToN project, I worked in an astronomical observatory as an engineer for 3 years. During that time, I enjoyed astrophotography and explaining astronomy to the general public. And many times, I was gazing at the starry sky and the Milky Way, thinking about the immensity of our universe, and how the more I learn about the cosmos, the less I really know about it. Eventually, I decided to quit my job and pursue a Ph.D. in astrophysics.
Now I feel quite rejoiced to join the GraWIToN project, which provides a great opportunity to research gravitational waves. This unprecedented new window onto our universe has been opened after the first detection made by LIGO on Sep 14th, 2015. The GraWIToN project also provides me insight into other cultures, shown by the other 13 fellows from different countries. I hope you can enjoy our blog and find some interesting stuff to you.
