Rudy NAHED

1fHi! My name is Rudy, I am ESR #2 in the GraWIToN program, and I am from a small country in the Middle East called Lebanon. This is my first time studying outside my home country and so far, I think everything is great. I am hosted by a French company called BOOSTEC in collaboration with the Federal University of Toulouse to work on Silicon Carbide materials for stray light components – that will be explained later in the forthcoming posts. However, this means I travel a lot between France and Italy (EGO-VIRGO site).

In fact, this is my second time living abroad. The first time was last year, from September until December 2015, where I lived in U.A.E Dubai and worked as a math2f
teacher at the Al-Mawakeb School. After 3 months, I resigned from this job for two reasons: Firstly, I did not like the position, and secondly I started searching for PhD positions until I was accepted in this training. That experience has taught me a lot, and it is clear to me that being abroad increased my knowledge about the culture and ethics of other countries compared to Lebanon.

Besides this work life of mine, I do a lot of activities such as playing ping-pong, fishing, hunting, drifting, racing, singing and playing an instrument called Darbuka but my only passion is for basketball.
