Zeno_Tornasi Alright, I’m Zeno! I took up my GraWIToN position at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, in January 2015. My job is to find out how to build perfect mirrors.

Just a piece of silicon reflecting Uni of Glasgow's logo, but pictures with gloves look so science-y!

So much for my work, which only fills my days since when I wake up (this varies a lot) to midnight or so. In the time that’s left, I love to read about the world (a.k.a. endlessly surf the internet), spend hours on Google Maps, doing my laundry and staring at the ceiling questioning my life choices. Like many researchers, and in particular the ones with family and friends in another country and a girlfriend in another, I travel a lot; in general that’s an amazing thing, but sometimes it has its cons.

I think I’ve been given an amazing opportunity in being part of GraWIToN, and part of the research world in general. GraWIToN is funded by the European Commission, so if you are a EU citizen, I owe you a big thank you for having made this possible.
